Begin your full-day Mombasa tour with a guided morning exploration of Mombasa Island, showcasing the city’s rich historical and cultural heritage. The tour includes a visit to the iconic Fort Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that reflects centuries of coastal history. Continue to the Old Port, where traditional dhows still operate, followed by a walk through Mombasa Old Town, famous for its narrow streets, Swahili architecture, and intricately carved wooden doors.
The morning tour also includes a stop at the Akamba Handicraft Centre, home to the largest wood-carving industry in Kenya. Here, guests can observe skilled artisans at work and enjoy an excellent opportunity for souvenir and handicraft shopping.
Lunch is taken en route before proceeding to Haller Park, formerly known as the Bamburi Quarry Nature Trail. This renowned ecological rehabilitation project is now a thriving nature sanctuary where visitors can see a variety of wildlife, including crocodiles, hippos, large tortoises, giraffes, snakes, and numerous bird species. Guests may also have the chance to witness scheduled animal feeding sessions, depending on timing.
After the park visit, the tour concludes with a relaxed drive back to your hotel, ending a day that combines Mombasa’s history, culture, wildlife, and natural conservation efforts.
